Wet Willie’s, a national chain of daiquiri bars and full-service restaurants headquartered in Savannah, has donated nearly $20,199 — twice the amount it raised a year earlier — to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Coastal Georgia.

Wet Willie’s representatives Joe Ann Brandt, social media director, and Emily Dickinson, marketing and human resources director, presented the check Dec. 3 during a ceremony at the Komen office at 2250 E. Victory Drive.

The money was raised as part of a month-long Wet Willie’s fundraising campaign that kicked off with a successful breast cancer awareness party in October.

“We raised more than $20,000 thanks to the dedication of our employees and the generosity of our customers,” said Bill Dickinson, CEO of Wet Willie’s Management Corp. “We are truly grateful for their contributions and their support.”

The latest donation is part of more than $100,000 in charitable financial contributions Wet Willie’s made in 2012.

“At Wet Willie’s, giving back has always been part of our company mission,” Emily Dickinson said. “We’re proud to help raise awareness about the importance of joining the fight against breast cancer.”
