Merchants to host holiday open house
Merchants in the historic Sandfly neighborhood will be open late to celebrate a holiday open house from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 6.
More than 15 shops and restaurants will offer food, drink and special discounts.
Participants include The Pink Door, Savannah Power Yoga, Local Color, Magnolias Gift Shop, James Gunn, Sweet Tea, Herb Creek Landscape, Four Kids, Isle of Yo’ Frozen Yogurt, Your Pie, Xpressions by Design, Non-Stop Fitness, Driftaway, Jalapenos, Sandfly BBQ and Sandfly Bar & Grill.
Final edition of Skirt! for Savannah area
Publication of Skirt! Savannah magazine has been suspended, Savannah Morning News publisher Michael C. Traynor announced Wednesday.
The magazine’s final issue is the December edition, which will be distributed to racks and in-store locations over the next week.
The decision to end publication of the magazine was made as part of an ongoing practice to “constantly review our strategies, objectives and portfolio to determine the best course for the company,” Traynor said.
Skirt! has been published in Savannah since January 2004. It is a free monthly publication with a distribution of 22,000 in Savannah and the surrounding area, including Tybee Island, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Hinesville and Bluffton, S.C.
Chamber Oyster Roast upcoming
The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Chamber Oyster Roast Business Connection on Dec. 6 on the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa River Lawn.
The event will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the cost is $10 for chamber members and $25 for guests.

The Small Business Council SMART Luncheon will be Tuesday. Networking starts at 11:30 a.m., with the program and lunch at noon in the Savannah Morning News Auditorium, 1375 Chatham Parkway.
Party to aid Second Harvest Food Bank
ThincSavannah, a coworking and collaborative office community at 35 Barnard St. will host an end-of-the-year party Friday night with Savannah Stopover and Well FED to benefit Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia food bank.
The festivities from 6-9 p.m. will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment.
The entry fee is one donated dry food item to benefit Second Harvest.
