A cast of dozens were in line with scissors in hand to help cut the ribbon Wednesday morning to mark the official opening of the new 100,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace on Mall Boulevard.
The store, the largest Kroger in Georgia, has something for everyone, from fishing gear to baby cribs, bed and bath, an extensive toy section, home furnishings and, of course, groceries. The $30 million project employs more than 400 people — about 150 from the old Kroger next door and 267 new positions.
The store will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
