Verizon Wireless to add 430 jobs in Georgia
ALPHARETTA — Verizon Wireless has announced the company is looking to hire more than 430 full-time employees in Georgia this year. More than 200 of the available positions are for customer service-related opportunities at call centers located in north Fulton County.
Verizon also is filling positions in retail, network and IT. Most of the jobs are based in Alpharetta and Milton, but the company also is hiring in Savannah, mostly in retail sales. Apply online at www.vzwcareers.com.

Arts Ashore Legacy Fund donates to nonprofits
The Arts Ashore Legacy Fund of The Savannah Community Foundation Inc. has announced the following grants:
• The Music Medicine Institute and Live Oak Public Libraries — $1,500 for “Celebrating the Month of the Military Child!”;
• West Broad Street YMCA, The Wesley Community Centers of Savannah Inc., and Hands On Savannah — $1,500 for “The Beloved Community Quilt Project”;
• Horizons Savannah and Savannah Country Day School — $1,500 for the Horizons Summer Music Program;
• Savannah State University and Savannah Black Heritage Festival — $500 for “Three Diverse Brother Turners” pottery exhibition.
