Andaz Savannah, billed by its owners as a lifestyle hotel, opened Thursday at 14 Barnard Street in the former AVIA Savannah in the Historic District.
A renovation to the hotel’s public areas has been completed and it has added the Andaz Lounge and a new restaurant, 22 Square, that will emphasize fresh regional ingredients and Southern specialties.
“We look forward to welcoming guests from the community and around the world to experience the dynamic ‘home away from home’ southern hospitality of Andaz Savannah,” said general manager Pedro Perez. “With a fabulous location across from Ellis Square, the hotel offers an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere that reflects the unique heritage of this historic city.”
Guests of Andaz Savannah will be greeted by hosts who will help them check in, offer refreshments upon arrival and provide concierge services as well.
The hotel includes 151 guest rooms and suites with complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access, a 24-hour fitness center and an outdoor terrace with cabana-lined outdoor pool. Andaz Savannah also will host rotating art shows that feature works produced by local artists, including those from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
