Lunch and Learn

The Savannah Traffic Club in association with the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce presents “The State of Our Region and City Celebrate New Partnerships and Fresh Opportunities,” Tuesday at the Crosswinds Golf Club. Speakers will be Bill Hubbard and Trip Tollison from the Chamber. The lunch buffet starts at 12 p.m. The cost is $25 for STC members and $35 for non-members. August Membership Luncheon

The Savannah Tourism Leadership Council will hold its August Membership Luncheon Aug. 16 at the Avia Hotel. Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:50 a.m. It is presented by, Joe Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah. The cost is $30/members; $40/non-members. Economic Outlook Update Luncheon

The Coastal Bank will sponsor the Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Inc. Economic Outlook Update Luncheon, Aug. 21, 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 103 San Drive, Pooler (near I-95 exit 102). Featured speaker is Michael Toma, director of the Center for Regional Analysis and Professor of Economics at Armstrong Atlantic State University.

NAWIC Chapter Meeting

On Aug. 27, NAWIC will hold its monthly chapter meeting at the Exchange Tavern on Waters Avenue. This will be a lunch meeting, beginning with networking at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting at noon.

Dave Miller and Bill Patton from the Atlanta Regional Office of the Small Business Administration will lead a roundtable-type discussion about what the office is about, what its goals are and what services and resources are available.

Grant writing for nonprofits: an introductory talk

The Creative Coast will host The Idiot’s Guide to Nonprofit Grant Writing, an introductory grant writing talk for managers, volunteers and organizers with little working knowledge of institutional fundraising for nonprofits.

Professional grant writer Dare Dukes will serve as the discussion leader.

‘Clays for a Cause’ to benefit nonprofit

Choate Construction will stage its second annual “Clays for a Cause” at the Forest City Gun Club on Oct. 19 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition to the sporting clays competition, the event includes lunch, a practice skeet session, silent auction, raffle, Lowcountry dinner and awards.

Last year, more than $25,000 was raised and 21 teams participated.
