Savannah foreclosure rates drop

Foreclosure rates in Savannah decreased for the month of November over the same period last year, according to newly released data from CoreLogic, a financial data reporting firm.

The rate of Savannah area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 1.30 percent for November 2012, a decrease of 0.46 percentage points from November 2011 when the rate was 1.76 percent. The national foreclosure rate was 2.97 percent for November 2012.

Savannah’s mortgage delinquency rate also decreased. In November 2012, 5.69 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 6.22 percent a year earlier.

Chatham Steel honored for health program

Subway restaurants will recognize Chatham Steel today for its Steel Fit Wellness Program and will provide 100 six-inch subs for a recognition lunch for Chatham Steel employees.

Subway also will give Chatham Steel a $1,000 fitness grant, part of which will be used to buy outdoor fitness equipement for employees and part of which will be donated to the West Broad Street YMCA for sports equipment.

Chatham Steel also received the national 2012 Leadership Award from the National Corporate Health & Wellness Association.

SCAD students to work with Glynn County

Graduate students in urban design at the Savannah College of Art and Design will work with the local government and citizens this spring to conduct research and develop design proposals for the Gateway Corridor on U.S. 17 in Glynn County.

The project is the first area of focus for Glynn County’s strategic plan. The goal is improve the corridor’s appearance and functionality, and to enhance cultural and environmental assets in the corridor and surrounding areas.

Firm expanding to Savannah, elsewhere

JACKSONVILLE — Kennetic Productions has announced it will expand its video production services to Savannah, Indianapolis, Rochester, N.Y., and Atlanta but didn’t include details on when or what specific locations the company would have.

The primary service will be in-house videos, including a situation where Kennetic Productions is the client-company’s personal video production partner. Other services include employee enrichment videos, training videos and commercials.

Kennetic Productions was created in 2003 and will remain based in Jacksonville.
