LMI acquires Valent
LMI Aerospace Inc. (Nasdaq: LMIA), a leading supplier of structural assemblies, kits and components and provider of design engineering services to the aerospace and defense industries, has completed its acquisition of Valent Aerostructures LLC.
Headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., Valent is a leading provider of complex, structural components, major sub-assemblies and machined parts for OEM and Tier 1 airframe manufacturers in the aerospace and defense industries.
In Savannah, LMI is a key supplier to Gulfstream and Boeing.
Hargrove Engineers wins award
Inc. Magazine has selected Hargrove Engineers + Constructors as one of 100 companies to receive its Hire Power Award, a salute to job creators who are putting Americans back to work.
The company has grown from 273 employees in 2008 to its current 702. Hargrove, headquartered in Mobile, Ala., has offices in eight North American cities, including Savannah.
5 Spot to celebrate grand opening
The 5 Spot, the Gaslight Group’s newest restaurant, will hold its grand opening Jan. 10, beginning at 4 p.m. in Habersham Village.
The event will include music, art, drink specials and $5 appetizer specials benefitting the Humane Society of Greater Savannah. Guests are asked to bring food, toys, blankets or towels. Complimentary champagne and light hors d’oeuvres from the tasting menu will be served all night.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 6 p.m.
