HR Seminar Covers FLSA Issues
Georgia Southern University’s LAW 116: Working Time Under the FLSA seminar provides an overview of what does and does not qualify as compensable working time, under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The seminar will be held Aug. 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Health System hospital in Brunswick, the attorney-led program also gives 1.5 hours of HRCI recertification credit for those with PHR, Senior PHR or Global PHR certification.

Grant Writing for Nonprofits: An Introductory Talk
The Creative Coast will host The Idiot’s Guide to Nonprofit Grant Writing, an introductory grant writing talk for managers, volunteers and organizers with little working knowledge of institutional fundraising for nonprofits.
Professional grant writer Dare Dukes will serve as the discussion leader.

‘Clays for a Cause’ to benefit nonprofit
Choate Construction will stage its second annual “Clays for a Cause” at the Forest City Gun Club on Oct. 19 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition to the sporting clays competition, the event includes lunch, a practice skeet session, silent auction, raffle, Lowcountry dinner and awards.
Last year, more than $25,000 was raised and 21 teams participated.
