Lambright has been a professor and chair in the engineering department for more than 10 years. He has served as the interim dean of the college since July 2012.

Education:

He earned a master’s of science from North Carolina A&T State University and received his doctorate from Georgia Institute of Technology.

CASEY JONES

New job title: Content marketing manager

Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Savannah

Duties:

Jones will support Visit Savannah, the Savannah Area Chamber and Visit Tybee in this new role. His primary focus will be on content development through photography, videography, social media and writing. He will also work in support of various marketing initiatives across the three organizations.

Related experience: Jones had been engaged with the organization in a contract role since July and will move into the full-time position on Dec. 1.

DAVID KEETON

New job title: Assistant district attorney

Duties: Keeton will be assigned to the Major Crimes Division prosecuting felonies.

Keeton worked in the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office for more than 25 years. While there, he prosecuted serious violent felonies.

Education: He has his juris doctor from Georgia State University and a B.S. in education from Northern Illinois University.

Duties: Masogosa has been employed with NLaws since July 2009.

SARAH ELLIOTT

New Job Title: Volunteer specialist

Elliott is responsible for volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention for 26 counties in Georgia.

Related Work Experience:

She served two years as vice president of Union Mission’s Employment and Training Center and three years running a youth mentoring program in 10 counties in New York.

Education:

Elliott attended Houghton College for Business Administration.

Anderson receives PR award

The Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored Jenny Lynn Anderson at its annual awards ceremony on Nov. 6 in Atlanta by presenting her with the George Goodwin Award in recognition of her contributions to the community through volunteer service in civic, cultural, charitable, educational and religious work.

The award is named for Pulitzer Prize journalist George Goodwin, a 65-year veteran of PR who helped shape the city of Atlanta and is known nationally as “the dean of PR people.”

Travel agent attends Disney conference

Amy Paderewski from Four Seasons Travel was among nearly 500 travel agency owners, managers and agents who recently gathered at the Walt Disney World Resort for the 2014 Disney’s EarMarked Conference – a program designed specifically for agencies with the “Authorized Disney Vacation Planner” designation.

Georgia Tech Ph.D. candidate receives award

ARCS Foundation announced that Carol Young has been selected as one of the 2014-2015 ARCS Scholars.

ARCS Scholars are selected annually by qualifying departments of science, engineering and medical research within ARCS Foundation’s 54 academic partner universities. An ARCS Scholar must be enrolled full-time, majoring in fields of science, engineering or medical research, be a U.S. citizen and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Young is a Ph.D. candidate working under Fumin Zhang at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is pursuing a degree in robotic engineering with the hope of applying her degree to sea or space exploration.

Jepson receives award from Leadership Georgia

Robert S. Jepson, Jr., Savannah businessman, philanthropist and chairman of the board of curators of the Georgia Historical Society, was honored with the 2014 J.W. Fanning Award by Leadership Georgia at their annual awards gala in Atlanta.

The award is presented each year in honor of Leadership Georgia founding father J.W. Fanning to a Georgian whose statewide contributions through progressive leadership and service have been broad in scope and rich in achievement.
