Gas prices fall in metro Savannah
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have fallen 5.9 cents a gallon in the past week to $2.72 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has fallen 4.9 cents a gallon in the last week to $2.82, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday in Savannah were 57.9 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 20.6 cents a gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 24.9 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 41.4 cents lower than this day one year ago. “As we begin Thanksgiving week, Americans are gearing up to hit the road, and when they do, they’ll be spending far less on their fuel bill than a year ago,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.
Firm offers Health Care Mutual workers’ comp insurance
Savannah insurance agency Stevens Hale & Associates will begin offering the Health Care Mutual line of workers’ compensation policies for the health care industry and social service organizations.
Health Care Mutual provides workers’ compensation coverage for Georgia’s assisted living facilities, developmentally disabled service providers, home care agencies, hospices, hospitals, nursing homes and social service organizations.
“Health Care Mutual has a conservative management philosophy with an emphasis on personal service and long-term relationships,” said Henry Stevens, chief executive officer at Stevens Hale & Associates.
Junior League extends deadline for grant applications
The Junior League of Savannah is accepting applications for community projects and community assistance funds and is looking for community partners with a focus on women and children.
Those organizations, local 501(c)3 nonprofits, partner with the Junior League and receive funding and volunteers for community projects. Those funds are awarded once a year in the spring.
