Enmark opens five new stores in South Carolina
Enmark Stations, a Savannah-based service station and convenience store chain, has announced the opening of five new locations in South Carolina.
The locations include: 125 Mathews Drive on Hilton Head Island; 3860 Highway 378 in Leesville; 1318 Edgefield Highway in Aiken; 2461 Charleston Highway in Aiken; and 113 Main St. in Wagener.
All five stores will have gas and diesel fueling stations, fresh-brewed coffee and other convenience store items along with fresh food prepared on site, including hot breakfast items, chicken, sandwiches and pizza.
“As we expand our reach in South Carolina, our stores will continue to strive to be the best service stations and convenience stores, from the customer’s perspective, in all the markets in which we operate, as stated by our mission,” said vice president Houstoun Demere.

Dancing with stars raises $101,000 for CASA
The seventh annual Dancing with Savannah Stars, held on Oct. 2, raised $101,601, including pledged sponsorships.
The event was the highest grossing fundraiser yet for Savannah/Chatham County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Inc. The money will provide resources for abused and neglected children in the child welfare system.
The best male dancer was Corey Jones, owner of Lucky Savannah Rentals; best female was a tie between Shari Carney, community philanthropist, and Yael Elfassy, pediatric hospitalist with South Coast Medical Group; top fundraiser was Jerry Rooney, president of Chatham Steel Corp., who raised more than $23,000.
Other dancers included Kasey Berman of Be Pediatrics, Tom Bordeaux of Savannah City Council, Kristi Faircloth of Ugly Duckling Oboes and Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and Patrick Perry of SunTrust Bank.
Technology group honors Isle of Hope K-8
Isle of Hope K-8 was among schools recognized by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed) during the third annual STEM Education Awards at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center on Sept. 26.
Isle of Hope received its award for its participation in STEM Day 2014. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.
For STEM Day, Isle of Hope had more than 750 students from all grades participate in various activities, including coding and development projects done by the sixth- and seventh-graders and the fifth-graders’ work on video and multimedia projects.
In the next year, the school will expand with state-of-the-art technology and will offer 2D/3D animation, robotics and 3D printing.
