Tractor Supply opens Bluffton store

BLUFFTON, S.C. — The Bluffton Tractor Supply Co. store, which opened for business on Sept. 13, will hold its grand opening today with a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Bluffton outlet at 40 Cecil Reynolds Drive is Tractor Supply’s thirty-third store in South Carolina and has 13 employees. The facility has 19,097 square feet, including sales floor and support service space.

“Bluffton is a great location for Tractor Supply Company because this is a large equestrian area,” said store manager Barb Johnson.

To celebrate the grand opening, shoppers will receive 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from Sept. 25-28 and can enter to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools.

Regular operating hours for the store are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Savannah Tech to host military career fair at Fort Stewart

Savannah Technical College will host a military career fair and hiring event from 10 a.m., to 3 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Building 705, 100 W. 15th St., at Fort Stewart

The event is open to soldiers, veterans and family members. More than 20 companies will be available, including Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Firth Rixson, Elan Technology, SNF Holding Company, Home Depot, UPS and others.

Georgia Southern named ‘military friendly’

STATESBORO — For the fourth year in a row, Georgia Southern University has been named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine for its efforts to provide educational opportunities to America’s veterans, active-duty troops and their families.

The 2015 Military Friendly Schools list was released Sept. 23 and can be found at www.militaryfriendlyschools.com.

The university recently developed The Wounded Eagle Fund to help veterans pursue their dreams of achieving a top-notch college education.

BI-LO stores raise money to fight cancer

From now through Oct. 28, BI-LO stores are encouraging customers to donate to the fight against breast cancer at any register in any of their stores.

Every dollar that’s donated will benefit local affiliates of the American Cancer Society.

“The partnership with American Cancer Society affords us the opportunity to support families in our communities who have been affected by breast cancer, as well as the opportunity to educate and raise awareness of this prevalent disease that affects so many of our neighbors said BI-LO spokesman Rondel Hartwell.
