Wild Wing Cafe to open Pooler location
Wild Wing Cafe will hold a grand open Friday for its new location at Pooler Marketplace at 417 Pooler Parkway across from the Publix Supermarket and Pooler Stadium Movie Theatre.
The restaurant’s grand opening event will begin at 5 p.m. Regional bands Cranford Hollow and Whiskey Run are scheduled to perform on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.

The restaurant will be the ninth Wild Wing Cafe in Georgia.
“We are thrilled to give Pooler an environment to let loose and spend time with close family and friends,” said franchise co-owner Mark Stegall.

Step Up breakfast to feature training center director
Step Up Savannah will hold its annual meeting and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Eckburg Auditorium at Savannah Technical College.
Featured speaker will be Carolyn Seward, CEO and president of the Metropolitan Training and Education Center in St. Louis.
Seward transformed the nonprofit with an eight-person staff into a $15 million workforce training center that partners with educational institutions, community-based organizations, the region’s economic development authority and two workforce investment boards.
The 2014 Workplace Innovator Award will be presented during the breakfast.

Organization offers import/export training
World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) will host Import Compliance, Documentation & Procedures from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at WTCSav, 131 Hutchinson Island Road.
World Academy, a training organization that offers import/export trade compliance education and training, will lead this seminar and attendees will earn 6.5 NCBFAACSS points.
The seminar will concern skills needed to successfully import goods and services from foreign markets.

Hilton Head Chamber wins marketing award
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Visitor and Convention Bureau has received the Destinations Council Destiny Award presented by the U.S. Travel Association.
The award was for the chamber’s 2014 digital co-op marketing program, recognized as the “Best Digital Campaign” in the nation.
The Destinations Council Destiny Award recognizes destinations for excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and promotion.
“This puts Hilton Head Island and our chamber on the national stage once again,” said Susan Thomas, chamber VCB senior vice president. “We’re honored to have earned this prestigious national award for destination marketing.”
