Effective June 30, First Financial Holdings Inc., parent company of The Savannah Bank, will change its name to South State Corporation. The ticker symbol, which is currently SCBT, will change to SSB.
Additionally, the subsidiary bank’s name will change to South State Bank on June 30.
South Carolina-based First Financial Holdings first announced the name change in February. The rebranding of all its banking subsidiaries will affect 138 locations spread across South Carolina, North Carolina and 12 counties in Georgia.
