VICTORIA TEN BROECK

New job title: Campaign associate

Company: United Way of the Coastal Empire

Duties: Ten Broeck will implement strategies focused on generating revenue within assigned areas as well as the management of assigned programs, such as the Young Leaders Society to increase year-round engagement with United Way. She will provide leadership and supervisory direction to Loaned Associates, volunteers and key projects necessary to achieve departmental goals.

Related Experience: Ten Broeck worked at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center as a sales manager and handled local, state and regional accounts. She has worked for the American Cancer Society in Savannah and Portland, Ore., overseeing numerous Relay for Life events.

Education: Ten Broeck earned her bachelor of science in biology from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia.

LESLIE WARE

New job title: Homecare team manager

Company: Hospice Savannah, Inc.

Duties: Ware will coordinate and supervise home-care team of clinicians ensuring Joint Commission compliance and adherence to state and federal regulatory policies.

Related Experience: She has 20 years pediatric nursing and 18 years hospice nursing in both inpatient and homecare settings.

Education: Ware has a BSN from Rhode Island College of Nursing.

MICHELLE WECKSTEIN

New job title: Director of human resources

Company: Parker’s

Duties: Weckstein will oversee all recruitment, compensation, benefits and training strategies for The Parker Companies.

Related Experience: Weckstein was human resources manager for Terry’s Tire Town Holdings, headquartered in Alliance, Ohio. She has held the position of director of human resources for the Easy Trip Stores group, headquartered in Pittsburg, Pa., and Cleveland. Weckstein has also served as a regional recruiter for the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar company and as human resources director for the Winking Lizard company of Cleveland.

Education: She attended the University of Akron and is a member of the National Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

TRAVIS THOMAS

New job title: Senior vice president and head of commercial banking

Company: The Savannah Bank

Related Experience: Thomas joined The Savannah Bank in 2007 as credit analyst in loan administration and moved into commercial banking as a relationship manager in 2009.

Education: A graduate of the University of Georgia, he earned a bachelor of business administration in finance and later earned a master of business administration from Auburn University.

Bob Jepson, Vince Dooley lead GHS board

Savannah businessman and philanthropist Robert S. Jepson, Jr. was elected to chair the board of curators at the 175th Annual Meeting of the members of the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah. Vincent J. Dooley of Athens was elected vice chair. Clay Boardman, III of Augusta was elected as the newest member of the board.

Reed House honors John W. Prather

Dr. John W. Prather, a founding member of the board of Reed House, Inc., will be honored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as one of 23 Exemplary Psychiatrists at the American Psychiatric Association’s Annual Conference in New York City.

Spiva honored at convention

Howard Spiva was invited to speak at the Georgia Trial Lawyers’s Association Annual Convention on April 25. More than 400 members were in attendance as Howard spoke on premise liability law.

Savannah Book Festival names directors, officers

The Savannah Book Festival has elected three new directors and named officers for the coming year.

Elected to serve three-year terms on the all-volunteer board are Robert Faircloth, John Helmken II and Timothy Lindgren.

The book festival also named the following officers: Jack Romanos, chair; Ann Higbee, president; Willard Holland, treasurer; Ben Oxnard, assistant treasurer, and Jenny Long, secretary.

Maggie Gill appointed to governor’s committee

Maggie Gill, president and CEO of Memorial Health, has been appointed to Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal’s Rural Hospital Stabilization Committee. The 15-member committee — a mix of doctors, health care managers, lawmakers and local officials — has been tasked with helping rural hospitals deal with high-cost issues such as treating uninsured patients, identifying needs of the rural hospital community and providing potential solutions.

Savannah and Lowcountry real estate experts earned 2013 top producer recognition from Celia Dunn Sotheby’s International Realty.

The 2013 top producers are Staci Donegan, Carolyn Ezelle, Helen Williams Johnson, Stewart Marshall, Susan Myers, Casey Schivera, Lavinia Strong, Lauren Tomhave, Peter Westley, Chris White and Franklin Williams. The top producers from the Bluffton, S.C., office are Catherine Donaldson and Renee Meighan.
