Gulfstream to add jobs in Brunswick
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced plans Wednesday to increase employment at its Brunswick facility by approximately 20 percent in the next year to support growing volume in completions work. The site currently has 174 employees, including nearly 90 technicians.
“Adding about 35 positions is significant growth for Gulfstream Brunswick and a boost to the community as a whole,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support.
Completions work includes the design, selection and installation of the cabin configuration and layout, furniture, seats, carpets and sidewall treatments, entertainment and communication systems and galley and lavatory fixtures.
Gulfstream Brunswick, located at the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport, has approximately 55,000 square feet of hangar space. In 2011, its employees serviced more than 100 aircraft.
City presents global business seminar
The city of Savannah Office of International Affairs & Governmental Relations working with the Greater Savannah International Alliance will present a global business seminar, Breaking into the Chinese Market, from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St.
Rongrong Liu, executive director of the Georgia-China Alliance and UGA Research Associate for International Trade, will facilitate the conference. The Georgia-China Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting business exchanges between China and the state of Georgia.
Seminar participants will learn what they need to know to begin doing business beyond our borders. A delegation of Chinese business leaders, visiting from Shanghai, will be on hand to share their perspective.

Infiniti dealer sponsors cancer event
The American Cancer Society’s Evening of hope, set for Nov. 8 at the Charles Morris Center, has announced that Infiniti of Hilton Head will be the presenting sponsor.
“We’re excited to be a part of this event for the first time. Cancer touches all of us, and we’re proud to be able to help support an organization helping to fight it,” said Jill Jauch, marketing and advertising manager for the New River Auto Mall, parent company of Infiniti of Hilton Head.
Evening of Hope will celebrate the lives of more than a dozen local cancer survivors, each wearing the latest trends from area boutiques during the event’s fashion show. The evening will also feature a silent auction and dinner provided by Live Oak Restaurant Group.
