Children’s choir draws support from St. Joseph’s/Candler

St. Joseph’s/Candler has contributed $5,000 to the Savannah Children’s Choir to sponsor its 2013 Artists in Residence program.

“Thanks to St. Joseph’s/Candler, 2,000 students are going to get a great education in music and music-related careers,” said Roger Moss, artistic director for the children’s choir. “Without this program, many of these students might not have exposure to music and the talent we have this year.”

The artists in residence program brings in up-and-coming young artists who rehearse and perform with the children’s choir and provide master classes, lectures, and recitals free of charge to local public school children.

“Students in Savannah are fortunate to have these world-renowned musicians visit, and we are extremely happy to help the Savannah Children’s Choir produce this program,” said Paul P. Hinchey, president & CEO of St. Joseph’s/Candler.
