Medical group wins immunization award

Pediatric Associates of Savannah, PC has been named the 2012 winner of the Walt Orenstein Champions for Immunization Award.

This is given each year by the Georgia Department of Public Health to the health department, hospital or medical practice that has shown outstanding delivery of immunizations.

Pediatric Associates of Savannah, founded in 1971, has 10 physicians and 50 employees at three locations: in the medical district on Waters Avenue, in Pooler and on Whitemarsh Island.

Senior Citizens Inc. offers nursing services

Senior Citizens Inc. has announced the expansion of nursing services to its established in-home program.

“We are already working to help people age successfully in their homes with personal care, companion and homemaking services. We can now take that mission even further with nursing services,” said Jenny House, vice president of programs.

Services being offered include medication set-up, wound care, blood draws, diabetes management, bowel/bladder management and medication administration.

Nursing Services are available for a fee to people in Chatham County with short or long-term disabilities and/or those 55 and older.

First Citizens Bank changes name to S Bank

First Citizens Bank and First Citizens BankShares Inc. have changed their names to S Bank and S BankShares Inc., according to an announcement by board chairman Michael J. Kistler. The bank, headquartered in Glennville, has offices in Hinesville and Reidsville.

With the name change, Kistler said, “there will be no staff changes and customers can continue to use their First Citizens Bank checks, debit cards and credit cards until it is time for them to re-order or the cards expire.”

Chief financial officer Dan Potts said the name change reflects a positive move toward the future.

“With the bank being in such sound financial shape, the new name reflects a new sense of energy and a renewed commitment to superior customer service,” Potts said.

Goodwill job fair scheduled

U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah, and Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire Operation Open Doors will host a job fair for veterans on Sept. 26 as part of the 9th annual stand down from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.at the Savannah Civic Center.
