Food and wine festival adds event
The 2013 Savannah Food & Wine Festival will take place Nov. 11-17, along with an additional event, the Riverboat Wine and Dinner Cruise with celebrity chef Anthony Lamas, from Seviche Restaurant in Louisville, Ky., and host vintner Joy Sterling.
Wines from Iron Horse Vineyards in California will be served. Lamas won the extreme chef title in 2011 on the Food Network show Extreme Chef. He describes his cooking style as “modern interpretations of traditional Latin dishes.
The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 15 after the River Street Wine Stroll. Tickets are available online at www.savannahfood andwinefest.com.
African-American buying power is focus of lecture
Savannah SCORE will presents its August lecture ‘Tapping Into The Buying Power Of The African-American Community’ from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 21 in the SCORE conference room, 111 E. Liberty S.
The lecturer will be Tanya Milton, vice president and advertising director of The Savannah Tribune. Milton will address methods and techniques to capitalize on the buying power of the African-American community and how that potential may increase the bottom line of your business growth. Cultural group seeks executive director
Charleston, S.C. – The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission is looking for an executive director of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.
The executive director will report to the commission and will have responsibility for the professional leadership and management of the organization. The position includes management of technical relations with the National Park Service.

The Joint Corp. opens clinic
The Joint Corp., which franchises chiropractic clinics, has announced the opening of a clinic in Savannah at 5500 Abercorn St. in the Twelve Oaks Shopping Center. The clinic is owned and operated by Robyn Meglin.
The clinic’s doctor will be Melinda Donnelly who received a psychology degree from Millersville University and a doctor of chiropractic from Life University in Marietta.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
