Women’s clothing store offers name designers
Apricot Lane Boutique (www.apricotlanedfw.com) opened its doors Thursday at Abercorn Walk, 5525 Abercorn St.
The store will feature designers such as Vintage Havana, Veronica M, Mavi, Miss Me, Rock Revival, Lovemarks, Dear John, Buddy Love, Big Star, Black Sheep, Matty M and Willow & Clay.
“We have very loyal customers, and it’s because with new items arriving almost daily, Apricot Lane Boutique is the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind outfits and unique gift items for women of all ages,” said owner Cristi Hargroves. “We pride ourselves on carrying a limited number of each item, allowing guests to purchase items that can help maintain their individuality unlike larger chain retail stores.”
New Papa Murphy’s pizza outlet opens
Papa Murphy’s opens its fourth Savannah area location today at 830 E. DeRenne Ave. in the Kensington Plaza shopping center.
Pizzas will be offered at 50 percent off today through Sunday. Customers can also enter to win prizes that include free pizzas, desserts and side items. One person will win free pizza for a year.
Papa Murphy’s has more than 1,350 locations nationwide.
Engineering firm holds ground-breaking
Savannah’s Hargrove Engineers + Constructors and Huntsman Advanced Materials broke ground on a $65 million expansion for the Huntsman Specialty Resins expansion project on May 29 in McIntosh, Ala.
Huntsman specialty resins are used to manufacture composite parts for the aerospace, industrial and oil and gas markets.
Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is providing engineering, procurement and construction management services on the expansion, which will more than double the size of the existing plant.
Construction will begin this summer and is expected to be completed mid-2014. The expansion project is expected to add 150 contractor jobs during the construction phase and 25 full-time positions once the facility reaches full capacity.
Seedling producer wins national award
RIDGEVILLE, S.C. – ArborGen, a firm that develops seedling products and related technologies to improve the productivity of trees, has been recognized by the Forest Landowners Association as its corporate member of the year.
The award honors landowners and forestry professionals who contribute to the advancement of the private forest landowner community.
“In addition to its work with our association, this award underscores the positive impact that ArborGen has made on our members through their outstanding operations and seedling products that enhance and support the needs of private landowners,” said Scott P. Jones, CEO of Forest Landowners Association.
ArborGen accepted the award during the landowners association national conference June 7 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
