Hilton Head Chamber wins 15th Pinnacle Award
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Visitor and Convention Bureau recently won its 15th consecutive Pinnacle Award for service excellence.
The honorees are chosen by the readers of Successful Meetings magazine.
The accolade is awarded to visitor and convention bureaus, hotels and conference centers for hospitality excellence.
The Hilton Head-Bluffton sales staff was recognized by meeting planners for an outstanding job in servicing meetings, incentive travel programs, trade shows and conventions during the previous year.
Local dog snack line opens new store in Tokyo
Oliver Bentleys has opened a namesake store in the upscale Tokyo district of Azabu.
The new store will feature the premium individually hand-stamped, gluten-free, human-grade dog biscuits called Ollie B. Biscuits.
The company is based in Savannah and the products are made in Savannah.
“We were convinced to join this market because of the amazing love and care the people of Japan show for their dogs,” said Oliver Bentley’s founder and chief executive officer, Eric Zimmerman. “The Japanese consumer also truly values hand craftsmanship and refined packaging in high-end, American-made products.”
The Tokyo store’s decor replicates the original Oliver Bentleys store, located on Wright Square.
Pepper jelly named finalist
Braswell’s Select Red Pepper Jelly has been named a finalist for Outstanding Classic in the 2013 sofi Awards from the Specialty Food Association.
Braswell Food Co. is based in Statesboro and employs more than 90 full-time workers.
It manufactures custom recipes for Paula Deen Foods, Jeff Foxworthy and Swamp People.
The award is the top honor in the specialty food industry and “sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.
The jelly was selected by a national panel from 1,885 entries. Gold winners will be announced July 1 at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
